We have provided this beautiful Facel Vega with a completely new custom-made interior on behalf of Amicale Facel Holland. For this we have taken into account all the original details and used the best materials.

We have already completed several projects in collaboration and are now more than familiar with the high standard of finishing that Facel has used over the years and the techniques involved.

History:

Various causes had crippled the pre-war French luxury marques by the early 1950s: the German occupation, material shortages, too small a market and high taxes on powerful luxury cars. Ultimately, no luxury cars were being made in France any more. In 1953 Daninos had the idea of building a new luxury car himself. That was the beginning of the Facel Vega marque — the name Vega being an idea of his brother, the widely read author Pierre Daninos (1913–2005). First, a suitable engine had to be found. At that time the type sought was not made in France, nor could it be found in Italy. Daninos initially wanted to have a new engine specially designed, but then recalled his days in the USA, where he had stayed during the Second World War. He contacted Chrysler and agreed with the factory that he could use the DeSoto V8. This 4.5-litre Hemi produced 170 hp. One problem was that Daninos was only granted an import licence on condition that, for every franc of imported engines, goods to the value of five francs had to be exported.
