We built this Alfa entirely to the customer’s wishes for taking part in historic rallies. The bodyshell is seam-welded at various points and fitted with a roll cage, the brakes are modified, and the suspension and dampers are adapted. It has a 2.0-litre engine producing 200 hp with the matching drivetrain and limited-slip differential, and the interior has been given various modifications and the necessary equipment.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia is a range of sporting saloons by the Italian marque Alfa Romeo, built between 1962 and 1978.

By the late 1950s it had become clear that the Giulietta needed replacing. At 1290 cc, the Giulietta was the smaller version of the now more than ten-year-old 1900. On 27 June 1962 the Giulia TI was presented at the Monza circuit. The Giulia resembled the Giulietta less than expected and was very angular, with straight lines. The design again came from Orazio Satta Puliga. Despite its ‘square’ appearance, the Giulia’s drag was nonetheless lower than that of, for example, a Porsche 911 of the period, thanks to its so-called Kamm tail. The Giulia TI would remain in production for five years.

The engine’s structure was unchanged from the Giulietta. By enlarging the bore and stroke and using larger valves — set at a more favourable angle — power was raised further. The Giulia received a twin-choke Weber carburettor and maximum power came to 92 hp, with a top speed of 166 km/h. The greatest improvement over the Giulietta, however, was its road holding.

The Giulia became a commercial success for Alfa Romeo and other variants of the model soon followed. In April 1963 Alfa presented the sportier Giulia TI Super, of which only 501 examples were ultimately built. Thanks to two twin horizontal Weber 45 DCOE carburettors, the TI Super had a maximum power of 112 hp and a top speed of 184 km/h, and was the first Giulia with disc brakes instead of drum brakes. In 1965 the Giulia Super was presented at the Geneva Motor Show.
