This Jaguar, originally delivered in the Netherlands, has been radically rebuilt. In a highly professional manner, the car has been fitted with a great deal of 1996 XJR technology, including the engine with well over 350 bhp, the complete rear-axle suspension, ABS braking system, brake system, a six-speed manual gearbox, electrically adjustable seats, and much more besides.

At present the car is in a technically driveable condition; we will shortly begin completing this astonishing restoration project.

Our plans are to spray it in Opalescent Dark Blue, to trim it with a burgundy-red leather interior, and to build it up to the highest attainable standard of finish.

Once the car is finished it will go up for sale — or you can step in now and give the car a personal touch.

History:

The Mark II was a four-door sports saloon, which Jaguar launched in 1959 as the successor to the Mark I, with 2.4- and 3.4-litre engines. The bodywork was improved and modified in a few details. From then on, disc brakes on all four wheels were standard.

The Mark II 2.4, with a displacement of 2,483 cc, now produced 120 bhp; the 3.4 delivered 210 bhp; and the newly added 3.8 of 3,781 cc delivered 220 bhp. The rear wheels were driven through a four-speed gearbox (optionally with overdrive or a three-speed automatic). Top speed was 155 and 195 km/h respectively.

Up to 1967, 25,173 examples of the 2.4-litre, 28,663 of the 3.4-litre and 30,140 of the 3.8-litre were built. Up to 1969 a further 4,446 of the 240, 2,788 of the 340 (with 210 bhp) and 12 with the 3.8-litre engine (with 220 bhp) were added.
