The iconic white square with the green four-leaf clover  the famous ‘Quadrifoglio Verde’ emblem has adorned Alfa Romeo’s most sporting and powerful models since 1923. Originally painted by racing driver Ugo Sivocci on his Alfa Romeo RL Targa Florio as a symbol of good fortune, the clover became forever associated with Alfa Romeo’s highest-performing models after Sivocci went on to win the race that same year.

The Giulia name first came to prominence in 1962 with the introduction of the Tipo 105, a compact sports sedan that quickly became legendary among enthusiasts thanks to its clever aerodynamics and lively twin-cam engines. After more than half a century without a true sports sedan in its lineup, Alfa Romeo revived the name in 2015 with the Tipo 952. From the very beginning, this new Giulia was engineered as a purist rear-wheel-drive sports sedan, featuring an almost perfect 50:50 weight distribution and extensive use of lightweight aluminum for components such as the doors, hood, and fenders.

For the development of the Quadrifoglio version, Alfa Romeo recruited several key figures from Maranello, including chief engineer Philippe Krief. Under his leadership, the Giulia Quadrifoglio received an entirely new 2.9-liter V6 Bi-Turbo engine, developed using technology derived from Ferrari’s F154 V8 as found in the California T and 488 GTB. Producing 510 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque, combined with a carbon fiber driveshaft, electronically controlled torque-vectoring differential, and optional carbon ceramic brakes, the Giulia Quadrifoglio accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 307 km/h. Upon its introduction, the car set a new Nürburgring lap record for production sedans, proving that Alfa Romeo’s second chapter for the Giulia would become every bit as memorable as the first.

Although adding a truly exceptional modern classic to our collection remains a challenge every time, we could hardly hide our enthusiasm when this Giulia Quadrifoglio arrived. The car was first registered in Germany on January 4th, 2018, and entered the Dutch registration system on March 12th, 2019. Since arriving in the Netherlands, this Giulia has had only two private owners and currently shows just 35,315 kilometers on the odometer.

The bodywork is finished in a deep and sporting black paintwork, beautifully contrasted by the characteristic Quadrifoglio details: the aggressive front fascia with its triangular scudetto grille and large cooling intakes, the carbon fiber roof panel, the subtle carbon rear spoiler, and the polished sports exhaust system. The interior is finished in black leather, complete with the Quadrifoglio-specific Sparco seats, red-stitched steering wheel with integrated starter button, and the famous oversized aluminum shift paddles mounted behind the steering wheel. From behind that wheel, the driver controls the car through the ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, which shifts with near telepathic precision and delivers dramatic upshifts in the aggressive ‘Race’ driving mode.

Thanks in part to its exceptionally low mileage and fully specified Quadrifoglio configuration, this Giulia Quadrifoglio represents a highly attractive example of a model that will undoubtedly come to be regarded as one of the final true enthusiast sports sedans of the petrol-powered era.

We warmly invite every enthusiast of Italian driver-focused automobiles to schedule a viewing in our showroom in Voorschoten, as we search for a new and equally passionate owner who is ready to give this ‘Bella Macchina’ the care and the miles it truly deserves.
