Bentley Continental GT Speed (2009) Without doubt, the Bentley Continental GT is a future classic. The illustrious brand, which has heroically won the Le Mans 24 Hours no fewer than six times, ignited its revival with this stylish coupé. Unfortunately, under Rolls-Royce’s wings, Bentley had lost a large part of its former magic. Thanks to Volkswagen, Bentley was able to develop the Continental GT, and secured its future. Regarding to its future classic status, this black 2009 Bentley Continental GT Speed feels very much at home at Peet Classics. It is unmistakably a true enthusiast’s car, ordered by its first owner with black metallic paint and an attractive interior that has been configurated to Mulliner specifications. The finish and detailing of the interior is sublime: as far as the eye can see, you’ll find delicately scented, diamond-stitched perforated leather. The stylish dashboard is finished in machined aluminum and black piano lacquer. The exterior as well as the interior, are in absolute top condition. This Bentley Continental GT bears the name ‘Speed’ on its wings. At the time, it was the most powerful version of the four-seater coupé. Under the hood, the magisterial six-liter twin-turbo W12 engine has been boosted to an output of no less than 612 bhp, and a blistering torque of 750 newtonmeters. Performance is impressive: the car accelerates in only 4.5 seconds from standstill to 100 km/h, and with a top speed of 326 km/h, this car masters many exotic supercars. To curb all the W12 power, the car was built with highly wear-resistant carbon-ceramic brake discs. No matter how hard the brakes are loaded, no matter how high temperatures rise, the braking performance will not diminish for a moment. A safe thought, when you frequently travel for long distances and would like to check the specified performance figures every now and then. Because the brake discs have a lower weight than the standard steel rotors, the driving characteristics of the Continental GT Speed also benefit from this attractive option. Of course, this Continental GT Speed drives superbly. The car feels much smaller and much lighter than the brochure states. The Continental GT steers with astonishing ease on winding roads, its high weight never hinders its dynamic properties. Of course, this is partly due to the standard four-wheel drive. But the Continental GT can also be driven with a very relaxed mindset and in complete silence. The comfort offered by the beautiful seats, combined with the soft air-suspension, is of the highest level. The fact that the Continental GT Speed is on sporty Pirelli P Zero tyres on 20-inch multi-spoke wheels, has no influence on the smooth ride of the air suspension. This 2009 Bentley Continental GT Speed has less than 60,000 kilometers on the odometer. Its MOT is valid until February 2022.
