Dat klinkt als een hoge leeftijd, maar dankzij zijn krachtige motor en uitstekende rijkwaliteiten is de Mk 2 zelfs voor sportauto’s van recenter bouwjaar een uiterst lastige auto om op achterstand te rijden.

Met de krachtige klanken die op de achtergrond uit de uitlaat komen, zit je als bestuurder volop te genieten van het gemak waarmee de 3,8-liter zes-in-lijn zijn vermogen op de achterwielen afgeeft, en de achtervolging inzet op de verbaasde bestuurders van vlugge youngtimers en hedendaagse roadsters. Dit exemplaar biedt je de ondersteuning van een elektrische stuurbekrachtiging, die qua sterkte nauwkeurig op je eigen smaak en behoeften kan worden afgesteld. Het interieur van de donkerblauwe Mk 2 is wat je mag verwachten van een van de beste Engelse sportsaloons ooit gebouwd. Een uiterst sfeervol interieur, met een gloedvolle combinatie van warme kleuren, dat nog altijd in een voortreffelijke conditie verkeert.

Deze Jaguar is al sinds 1994 in Nederland. Een van de eerste eigenaren in Nederland was een prominent politicus en lid van de Tweede Kamer – een ware liefhebber. Sindsdien is de auto grondig gerestaureerd en altijd in topconditie gehouden. Onlangs zijn bij een omvangrijke onderhoudsbeurt de schokdempers, de lagerbussen en alle rubbers van de wielophanging rondom vervangen, zodat optimaal genoten kan worden van de beroemde rijkwaliteiten van de Mk 2. Uiteraard wordt de auto geleverd met alle documentatie van de restauratie en tussentijds onderhoud. Dat maakt deze Mk 2 3.8 Automatic misschien wel een van de meest begerenswaardige exemplaren die er op de markt zijn.

In our opinion, its beautiful design, excellent six-cylinder in-line engine, classic interior and expert build quality make the Mk 2 one of the most desirable cars ever made in the UK. This Mk 2 3.8 Automatic, which we have recently added to our collection, is exactly 60 years old. That sounds like a great age, but thanks to its powerful engine and excellent driving qualities, the Mk 2 still excels with its great ride and sporty road manners.

With a powerful sounds in the backgroudn, coming from the exhaust, as a driver you can fully enjoy the ease of the 3.8-liter six-in-line when it transfers its power to the rear wheels, and chases surprised drivers of fast youngtimers and contemporary roadsters. This example offers the support of an electric power steering, which can be precisely adjusted in terms of strength to your own tastes and needs. A light steering for easy manoeuvring, or a somewhat heavier steering when the feeling of contact is more valuable to you.

The interior of the dark blue Mk 2 is what you would expect from one of the finest English sports saloons ever built. Jaguar has used only the best natural materials: lots of leather, lots of wood and lots of wool. An extremely attractive interior, with a glowing combination of warm colors, which is still in excellent condition.

This Jaguar has been in the Netherlands since 1994. One of the first owners in the Netherlands was a prominent politician and member of the Dutch House of Representatives – a true enthusiast. Back then, the car has been thoroughly restored and always kept in top condition. The shock absorbers, bearing bushes and all rubbers in the suspension were recently replaced, so that the famous driving qualities of the Mk 2 can be fully enjoyed. Naturally, the car comes with all documentation of the restoration and interim maintenance. That makes this Mk 2 3.8 Automatic perhaps one of the most desirable examples on the market.
